Paper qualities — pick the right paper for your event
Four paper qualities for four different use cases. The right choice depends on the perceived premium-ness of your event, the absorbency you need and your budget.
2-ply — the everyday standard
Two layers of soft tissue. Standard absorbency, the most affordable price tier. Used in casual bars, takeaway, mass-volume events. Available in all sizes, from 20 units (Full Colour) / 100 units (Deluxe).
3-ply — premium, thicker feel
Three layers — noticeably thicker and more absorbent. Used in mid-range restaurants and corporate events that want a perceptible quality bump over the standard.
Double Point — the restaurant favourite
2-ply paper with an embossed border on two opposite edges. The embossed pattern adds visual texture and “locks” the two layers together, preventing the layers from separating. The standard for sit-down restaurants in southern Europe.
Airlaid — the cloth-like upgrade
A specialty non-woven paper that feels and drapes almost like fabric. Used for weddings, fine dining and premium hospitality. Excellent absorbency, soft on the skin, with a noticeable visual upgrade. Costs more than the other three qualities — typically €0.40-1.50/unit depending on size and quantity.
Quick decision guide
- Tight budget, high volume → 2-ply
- Mid-range restaurant or cafe → Double Point
- Upscale restaurant or corporate event → 3-ply
- Wedding, fine dining, hotel reception → Airlaid
